Swimming lessons at Salendine Nook High School 2020-2021
Unfortunately, due to COVID 19 restrictions, swimming lessons are cancelled until further notice.
Children are required to bring a towel and swimming costume, trunks for boys (no baggy shorts, please), and a full costume for girls (no bikinis, please). They will also need a swimming cap.
If you would like your child to wear goggles, please send in your written permission along with a reason why goggles are required. Only goggles with the British kite mark are permitted. Please send your child’s swimming kit in a named bag. If children forget their kit, there will be spare kit provided at the pool. Children are only allowed to miss swimming due to a medical reason if parents/guardians provide a letter excusing their child on the day.
As children are not allowed to swim whilst wearing jewellery, it would be helpful if it was not worn at all on swimming days. This includes earrings, so children should not get their ears pierced during Year 4. Girls with long hair should remember to bring a bobble to make it easier for them to put their swimming cap on.
The children travel by bus to the pool with their class teacher and a support assistant. Once at the pool, instructors take over the teaching and supervision for the session, with the class teacher supporting.
